Ministry of Roads and Transport Participates in KECOSO 2026 GAMES
The Ministry of Roads and Transport has joined public sector institutions participating in the 2026 Kenya Communications Sports Organization (KECOSO) Games, which officially opened today in Machakos County.
The Games were officially opened by Stephen Isaboke, EBS, Principal Secretary, State Department for Broadcasting and Telecommunications, marking the beginning of a week-long programme bringing together public officers through sport, teamwork, talent and employee wellness.
Held under the theme “Enabling Teamwork through Sports,” the KECOSO Games provide a platform for public sector institutions to strengthen teamwork, build professional networks and enhance closer working relationships through sporting activities.
The Games, running from 22nd to 29th August 2026, bring together staff from participating institutions for a range of sporting activities aimed at promoting talent, teamwork, employee wellness and collaboration within the public service.
The Ministry of Roads and Transport is represented through its State Departments and agencies, with staff participating in various sporting disciplines throughout the Games. The participation provides an opportunity for employees to showcase their sporting abilities while enhancing interaction and stronger working relationships across institutions.
The KECOSO Games provide more than a platform for competition. They offer public officers an opportunity to interact, exchange experiences, nurture talent and build professional networks that contribute to stronger institutional collaboration and cohesion within the public service.
Sport also plays an important role in promoting the physical and mental wellbeing of employees, strengthening team spirit and creating an environment where colleagues can connect beyond their everyday professional responsibilities.
As the week-long competition gets underway, the Ministry of Roads and Transport wishes all participating teams and athletes a successful, competitive and enjoyable Games.
The Ministry remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote employee wellbeing, talent development and professional growth, recognising that a healthy, motivated and cohesive workforce is essential to effective public service delivery.
