State Department for Transport Invests in Staff Development to Strengthen Service Delivery

The State Department for Transport has reaffirmed its commitment to continuous learning, professional development and staff capacity building as key drivers of effective public service delivery.

Speaking during the presentation of certificates to officers, the Principal Secretary, State Department for Transport, emphasized the importance of investing in human capital to strengthen the capacity of the State Department to effectively deliver its mandate.

The Principal Secretary noted that every officer, regardless of cadre or level of responsibility, plays a vital role in the achievement of the State Department’s mandate.

“We want everyone to grow. Every officer has a role to play, regardless of their cadre or level of responsibility. When we invest in our people, we strengthen our ability to deliver better services to the public,” the Principal Secretary said.

A total of 44 officers drawn from various departments and cadres undertook different training programmes in line with Public Service Commission requirements on mandatory in-house training.

The officers expressed their appreciation to the State Department for providing them with the opportunity to undertake the training programmes, noting that the courses had enhanced their knowledge, skills and professional capacity.

The officers said they were happy and grateful to have been given the opportunity to pursue the courses, adding that the knowledge and skills gained would be valuable in their respective roles and in improving service delivery.

The Principal Secretary congratulated the officers for completing their respective training programmes and encouraged them to translate the knowledge and skills acquired into improved performance, professionalism, efficiency and service delivery.

Also present during the certificate presentation were the Secretary, Administration, and the Director, Human Resource Management, among other officers.

The State Department for Transport will continue to support continuous professional development and create opportunities for its workforce to grow, improve and excel in service to the nation.
