Stakeholders Engagement Meeting on the Proposed Civil Aviation (Aircraft Accident And Incident Investigation) Regulations 2024
The Ministry of Roads and Transport through the State Department for Transport, undertook a comprehensive review of the Civil Aviation Act (Cap 394) and developed the draft Civil Aviation (Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation) Regulations, 2024.
Pursuant to Article 10 (2) of the Constitution and Section 5 of the Statutory Instruments Act (Cap 2A), the stakeholders and members of the public were invited to submit their comments, views, and written memoranda on the draft Regulations within 21 days of the publication of the notice. All comments, views, and written memoranda regarding the draft Regulations were received via e-mail on or before 21st September 2024.
The Aircraft Accident Investigation Department (AAID) held an engagement meeting on the draft Regulations on 3rd October 2024 at Panari Hotel, Nairobi where all stakeholders presented their comments, views and written memoranda. The participants engaged in a meaningful conversation about the implications of the draft Regulations on aircraft accident and incident investigation and also provided valuable feedback on the technical aspects of the draft regulations.
This is a critical step towards ensuring the development in standards, techniques and practices of AAID. We look forward to continued collaboration on matters Aircraft Accident Investigation.
