PS Engages Transport Agencies at Mombasa ASK Show

The Principal Secretary, State Department for Transport, today engaged with key transport agencies during a visit to their exhibition stands at the Mombasa ASK Show, held under the theme “Promoting Climate-Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth.”

The PS visited the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) stand, where he was briefed on the Authority’s achievements in improving vessel operations and port efficiency over the past five years.

The PS also viewed a live demonstration of the Vessel Traffic Management Information System (VTMIS), which provides real-time information on vessel movements and supports effective management of maritime traffic and port operations.

At the Kenya Railways stand, the PS was briefed on the Corporation’s upcoming rail parcel service, which is expected to provide an additional option for the movement of parcels by rail.

The Railway Training Institute (RTI) further showcased its innovations and initiatives aimed at strengthening technical skills and promoting innovation within the railway sector.

The engagements offered the PS an opportunity to appreciate the progress and initiatives being undertaken by the two agencies to enhance transport efficiency, embrace technology, innovation, support trade and sustainable economic growth.
