KECOSO Games 2024 Flag Handing Over and Medals Presentation Ceremony

The Kenya Communications Sports Organization (KECOSO) 2024 team that emerged second position in the games held in Nakuru County, today handed over the flag back and presented medals won to the Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport (MoRT), Mr. Davis Chirchir who doubles as the Patron for KECOSO.

The event was also graced by the Principal Secretary for Roads Eng. Joseph Mbugua and PS Transport, Mohamed Daghar. Acting Secretary of Administration in the State Department for Transport, Mr. Ibrahim Abdi and Heads of Departments were present. KECOSO games officials, team members and staff from State Departments for Roads, Transport, Public Works, Housing and Shipping and Maritime were also in attendance.

The MoRT team recorded a stunning performance and was awarded the Mawasiliano Shield for emerging second position over all.

The CS commended the teams and officials for their exemplary performance and for living true to Kenya’s esteemed sporting heritage. He also pledged to provide material and moral support to the teams in future games, promising to attend next year’s edition.

Transport PS, Mohamed Daghar who doubles as the deputy patron for KECOSO, highlighted the games’ vital role in enhancing values such as teamwork and resilience among staff especially as the games were held amidst growing emphasis on mental wellness at the workplace.

In his remarks PS for Roads Eng. Joseph Mbugua commended the team’s performance especially having improved from last year’s third place finish.
