Visiting delegation from Jiangxi Province

The Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport Hon Kipchumba Murkomen today hosted the visiting delegation from Jiangxi Province in the People's Republic of China led by the Governor H.E Ren Zhufeng, who was accompanied by the Minister-Counsellor for Economic and Commercial office of the Embassy of China in his office.

The Jiangxi province, like other parts of China, has put in place an exemplary public transport infrastructure network to support its rapid socio-economic development, which Kenya and other countries can learn from.

The meeting compliments Kenya's ongoing plans to improve the public and freight transport system in the Rail, Sea,Road, and Air transport sectors through Public-Private Partnerships.

The meeting discussed how Kenya and China can cooperate and learn from each others experiences on improving their respective transport sectors.

The meeting further discussed the role of Public-Private Partnerships in infrastructure investment and noted the Jiangxi Province's increasing role in future projects in Kenya and around the world.
