Launch of construction and improvement of two road projects in Homabay County

HE President William Ruto PhD, today launched the construction and improvement of two road projects in Homabay County.

Accompanied by the Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport Hon Kipchumba Murkomen and the Principal Secretary for Roads Eng Joseph Mbugua together with the CS for ICT and Digital Economy Eliud Owallo and CS for Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs Hon. Salim Mvurya and the Homabay Governor Gladys Wanga, the President, launched the construction works for the upgrading to Bitumen standards of the 74 Kilometre Mbita-Sindo -Kiabuya-Sori road and improvement of 53 kilometer Ring Roads in Mfangano Island.

The two road projects are expected to open up the accessibility  to the region and ease transportation of fish and farm produce in the county, thereby improving the livelihoods of farmers and fishermen, as well as attracting investment opportunities in the region.
