CS Davis Chirchir takes over Ministry from CS Kipchumba Murkomen

Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport, Davis Chirchir, officially assumed office today, taking over the reins from his predecessor, Kipchumba Murkomen, after a handover ceremony at Transcom House earlier today. CS Chirchir now takes on the critical task of overseeing the nation's roads and transport infrastructure development.

Prior to the official handover, the two Cabinet Secretaries conducted a joint inspection of construction works at Gitaru interchange which is set to be completed and commissioned in October, underscoring the Government's commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure that meets the needs of the public.

In his remarks, CS Davis Chirchir, emphasized the importance of clear and transparent communication on Ministry projects. He outlined his vision for the Ministry, which includes enhancing public awareness, fostering stakeholder engagement, and ensuring timely completion of projects. He further added that his Ministry will maintain open lines of communication about progress and challenges.

The handover ceremony which was attended by senior officials led by State Department for Transport Principal Secretary, Mohamed Daghar concluded with a renewed commitment from both leaders to work towards enabling the realization of the Government’s Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda, by providing efficient roads and transport systems and services, that will enhance the quality of life for all Kenyans.
