Vetting of Cabinet Secretary’s 2024-2025 Performance Contract
The Public Service Performance Management Unit (PSPMU), today conducted a thorough vetting of the Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport’s draft Performance Contract for the Financial Year 2024/2025. This critical exercise aimed to ensure that all departmental objectives are strategically aligned with the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) and the Ministry's overarching goals, thereby enhancing accountability and efficiency in service delivery.
The review was led by PSPMU Director, Mr. John Magua, alongside Mr. Peter Kariuki, who guided Ministry officials in meticulously scrutinizing and validating the draft Performance Contract. The process involved setting specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-bound (SMART) performance targets that clearly define the Ministry's strategic priorities for the upcoming financial year.
Mr. Chimwaga Mongo, Secretary Administration for the State Department for Roads, emphasized that these validated targets will serve as critical benchmarks for measuring the Ministry's performance. They will guide all directorates in achieving their set goals and objectives, reflecting the Ministry's commitment to continuous improvement and effective service delivery.
The vetted Performance Contract is set to be signed by the Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport, Mr. Davis Chirchir, and His Excellency President Dr. William Ruto.
