Review of Programme Performance and Preparation of Subsector Reports
The State Department for Transport is undertaking a review of its programme performance for the financial periods 2021/2022, 2022/2023, and 2023/2024. The exercise also focuses on preparing the sub-sector reports for the upcoming financial years 2025/2026, 2026/2027 and 2027/2028, as part of the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) budget-making process.
This critical exercise brings together participants from the State Department for Transport and its state agencies, including the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), Nairobi Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (NaMATA), LAPSSET Corridor Development Authority, Kenya Airports Authority (KAA), Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC), Kenya Ports Authority (KPA), and Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA).
The review offers a platform for an in-depth review of the progress made in the transport sector over the past three years. Participants will evaluate the achievements, challenges, and opportunities within the sector, ensuring the alignment of current and future projects with the Government’s strategic priorities. This effort will inform the budget planning process for the next Medium Term Expenditure Framework cycle, ensuring that resources are optimally allocated to key transport infrastructure projects that support national development goals.
As the exercise progresses, participants are expected to deliver detailed subsector reports that will shape the transport sector’s priorities and ensure that the Government’s investments in transport are maximized for national growth and development.
